What to keep in mind
- A hire means someone started with an employer
- It does not tell you whether they changed careers, returned to work, or moved between similar jobs.
- A departure can happen for many reasons
- The number combines several ways a job can end. It is not simply a layoff count.
- More detail can mean fewer published numbers
- Once you narrow by worker, employer, industry, and place, some groups become too small to show.
